Explorations

Since the summer of 2022, I want to try and explore new things. I also work with fragment.tools now, it’s a super great tool to manage Javascript sketches and their exports.

Everything begins with explorations. I wanted to create lines based on a 2d noise, masked by geometric patterns. It was fun to play with the number of lines, and create the patterns behind them (vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines, circles, points etc..)

Explorations

Floating Medusas

After the R&D phase, I played with abstract compositions and sharp shapes, I loved the idea but it didn’t work every time.

So, I tested with more smooth shapes floating around the center of the artwork. It was fun to see the results creating of organic creatures. Here are a few examples of my tons of renderings.

After weeks of working on small details and colour themes, I decided to release Floating Medusas. There was a small chance (based on the seed) to generate sharp shapes, closer to my first results. Floating Medusas is a generative project, a group of little creatures creating an organic visual.

1 edition was printed (size: B1)

Canyons

The week after this release, I wanted to work again on my smooth curves. With fewer lines, I got more simple visuals with a great composition.

I worked on all the settings for a few weeks and the Canyons were born.

Lands

In December 2022 and January 2023, between 2 websites, I developed new visuals. This time, I worked with composition effects in Canvas (globalCompositeOperation). As usual, I made TOO MANY exports, and try to get a common style between them.

Lands were ready, and 144 editions were generated and sold: fxhash.xyz/generative/24432

Lands

It was 6 months full of discovering and exports (lol, yes 80% of my time is just trying, updating some variables, and exporting).
I’m seriously thinking about printing one iteration of each project, I think they can have another style on paper. It would be also nice if I have the opportunity to exhibit them 👀

All these steps gave me some energy to develop and get some fresh ideas for the next projects.
Stay tuned on my Twitter & Instagram.
